Shooting topless girls is a strange business. For starters it divides people who you speak to about it. When you tell them you spend your days off work photographing half naked women to raise awareness for Breast Cancer you either get a smile or a frown but rarely anything in between. Breasts it appears are always provocative. The majority of people I speak to about the Beautiful Breasts project are supportive and show genuine interest for what we are doing. Some people are obviously critical and they have the right to think whatever they want. If they believe that taking pictures of topless ladies is wrong, for whatever reason, thats ok with me. Its not the negative responses that fascinate me its the level of emotion people have towards boobs. Breast are not simply viewed as basic, female body parts that carry out the essential yet rather mundane task of feeding children. No breasts are probably the most evocative body parts after the mighty penis and mystifying vagina. They elicit all sorts of emotions in sensible mature adults. People love and/or hate breasts; they fill them with passion, disgust, fear, envy, sadness, joy and quite often respect. Its no wonder that models with particularly aesthetically pleasing breasts can make a lot of money by simply taking their tops off and posing for a photographer. What would Katie Price, Lucy Pinder or Sam Fox be without their boobs? Anyway enough of my ramblings its time to eat. More soon.

I'm a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia and in my lab we do research on a new form of ultrasonic testing to catch cancer in the blood right as it metastisizes before it is incredibly dangerous. An MRI has a resolution of about 1 billion cells to catch cancer and costs about $4000 per scan, the thing we are inventing currently only needs 5 cells to detect it and we are working on getting it down to 1 and if it were to go to market would only be about $400 per scan. We're getting there, we are so close to essentially catching it so early that we can cure it without any problem, just wait.
